# **Sales reports worth checking every week**

**Sellora Group team**

October 22, 2026 · 1 min read

**Reports from a sales system only make sense if someone reads them and draws conclusions. One fixed slot a week and six reports are enough.**

## **1. Revenue and number of transactions**

Compare the week with the previous week and, if you have the data, with the same week a year ago. Look at revenue and at the number of transactions separately. Fewer transactions with the same revenue means fewer customers who buy more.

## **2. Average receipt value**

The average receipt is revenue divided by the number of transactions. It grows when customers add products and falls with promotions or menu changes. It is a good measure of how well bundles, add-ons and suggestions at the till work.

## **3. Sales by hour and day**

The spread of sales across the day shows peak and quiet hours. Use it to plan staff rotas, deliveries and promotions, such as an offer for slow afternoons.

## **4. Best and worst products**

Rank products by revenue and by units sold. Items that have sat at the bottom for weeks take up space on the menu, on the shelf and in storage. Consider dropping them or changing the price.

## **5. Discounts, refunds and voids**

A high number of discounts, refunds or voided items can point to a service problem, a product problem or abuse. Check these reports per employee.

## **6. Payment methods**

The share of cash, cards and BLIK affects fees and how much cash you need in the till. A change in the mix also tells you something about your customers.
